WHEREAS the health and well-being of its residents are a priority for every community.
In Toronto, nurses play an integral part in our healthcare system by serving people of all ages with skill, knowledge, compassion and commitment.
TORONTO, May 5, 2011 – The knowledge of registered nurses and the central role they play in providing quality patient care will be celebrated at a series of media conferences during Nursing Week (May 9-15).
The nurses, representing three different health-care facilities that have adopted best practice guidelines (BPGs), will demonstrate how the BPGs are revolutionizing nursing practice and helping to make their organizations leaders in clinical excellence.
TORONTO, May 6, 2011 – Politicians from all parties are joining registered nurses across the province to celebrate Nursing Week and experience first-hand the rewards and challenges of the nursing profession. Along with sharing information about their work, nurses are sending a strong message to MPPs that health and health care must remain a top priority during the upcoming provincial election campaign.
Ottawa, May 11, 2011 – Tomorrow, three nursing associations will present arguments before the Supreme Court of Canada in support of Insite, Vancouver’s supervised injection facility.
Lawyers for the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA), the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) and the Association of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (ARNBC) say there is overwhelming evidence and research that supports the effectiveness of the facility and the care nurses provide.
